«Far East Grain Forum 2024»
III International conference
July 18-19, 2024
Vladivostok, Russia
We invite you to take part in III Far East Grain Forum, which will take place on July 18-19 in Vladivostok.
Last year forum gathered more than 200 delegates from different countries and became main platform for discussion of Russian agro export to China and other South-West Asia countries problems and prospects.
Forum's relevance is confirmed by statistics. In 2023, trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 26.3% to $240.1 billion and became a new record in trade between two countries. Both countries have a clear intention to achieve new record levels in 2024, and by 2030 to bring mutual trade to more than $300 billion per year level. It is obvious that Russian farmers will be able to increase the volume of supplies to Chinese market.
China imported 292.25 thousand tons of peas in January-February 2024, which is 65% higher than in the same period of 2023. Russia has become the largest supplier of this crop to China. Barley, corn, soybeans and rapeseed cake supply to China has increased significantly also.
Dynamics grain cargoes shipments through the ports of Primorye is especially noticeable. Last year, 1.73 million tons of grain and processed products were exported, compared to 708.9 thousand tons in 2022. Deliveries through Primorye from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Irkutsk Region have increased. The 2.5-fold increase is encouraging, but even with this indicator; region's share in total Russian grain exports is only 1.6%. Trend towards a gradual increase in grain exports through the regional ports will continue in 2024, but we cannot count on a strong increase in shipments — the region does not yet have necessary export infrastructure for this.
That is why topic of investments in transport infrastructure expansion will become the main topic during the Far East Grain Forum.
Event will be held for two days. On July 18, it will be a conference where experts will discuss the actual grain and oilseeds logistics issues, share experience and suggest ways of existing problems solution. After the business part, it will be a Grain Gala Dinner, which will be a great site for informal networking.
Second day, July 19, will be devoted to Vladivostok and surroundings sightseeing. A tour of one of the unique cities in Russia will be organized for guests. At the end, delegates will have a trip to Russian Island, where they will have a unique seafood lunch on the Pacific Ocean cost.
