Due western sanctions, Russian economy is gradually turning towards the East. This required a rapid increase in logistics and transport capacity. However, full-fledged export infrastructure creation in the Russian Far East is still far away. Expanding the capabilities of BAM and Transsib and the emergence of specialized terminals in the ports of the Far East will contribute to the growth of Russian agricultural exports through the region. In addition to port construction, serious investments are required in the creation of dry ports on the border with China, opening of new border crossings, Siberian elevators modernization, and Russian grain transit through the territory of Kazakhstan normalization.

Grain growers and logisticians will discuss these problems at the II International Far East Grain Forum, which will be held in Vladivostok on July 12-13, 2023.

Also among the forum topics:

  • Quotas for grain exports on a "historical basis" and Siberian agro export issues;
  • Prospects for Chinese wheat, peas and soybeans imports in the near future;
  • New markets in Southeast Asia opening and logistics routes to them;
  • Real investments in "dry" and marine grain terminals construction overview;
  • Agricultural export in containers: profitability assessment, current situation and prospects for logistics development;
  • Phytosanitary certificates issuing procedures - how to speed up and simplify the process?
  • Railway exports to China congestion problem.
Last year Forum gathered more than 200 delegates and became first platform for discussing of Russian agricultural exports problems and prospects in the Far East. This year we are planning plan to increase the number of delegates and expand the geography of our participants.

Far East Grain Forum will be held for two days. The final day of the forum is dedicated to informal communication of delegates. On this day, participants will be acquainted with one of the most unusual Russian cities – Vladivostok, after that they will go to Russky Island, where a lunch with Far Eastern seafood will be organized on the ocean shore, where participants will be able to negotiate and consolidate new contacts.
