«Far East Container Forum 2024»
III International conference
July 11-12, 2024
Vladivostok, Russia
We invite you to take part in III Far East Container Forum, which will take place on July 11-12 in Vladivostok. Key event of the summer will gather delegates to discuss relevant and pressing issues affecting further container sphere development. Last year Forum gathered more than 200 delegates and became largest industry event on Russian Far East.
Venue is chosen not by chance. In new geopolitical reality, Far East got a special role – one of the main centers of Russia's economic growth. Through the ports and border crossings of this region the main stream of Russia's increasing trade with the countries of South-East Asia is flowing.
After the 2022 shock, country's transport and logistics sector was able to adapt to new conditions quickly: new port facilities are expanding and being built in the Far East, new container lines have entered the market, non-standard technologies for railway container transportation have been introduced, and Eastern polygon capabilities are gradually expanding.
However, despite all kinds of expansion work, today country's main export code cannot handle all volumes of containerized cargo. Russian Railways in all export-important areas faced locomotive crews and traction shortage. Growth of coal exports is also blocking Far Eastern direction for containers. As a result, dozens of container trains are abandoned from Moscow to Siberia, which are idle for 10 to 70 days.
Today, it is necessary to find new administrative, infrastructural and economic solutions that will be able to solve the issue of overcoming barriers to Russian trade in the Far East direction in the shortest possible time. First of all in the field of container transportation. It is not by chance that the railway logistics problem will become a key issue in the discussion at the III Far East Container Forum.
Second day of the forum, July 12, will be devoted to Vladivostok and surroundings sightseeing. A tour of one of the unique cities in Russia will be organized for guests. At the end, delegates will have a trip to Russian Island, where they will have a unique seafood lunch on the Pacific Ocean cost.
